Most of the lamps on the market are LED lights, because of they are more cost-effective, reliable quality, and outstanding environmental protection advantages. It is one of the products promoted by many government departments. However, compared with ordinary halogen lamps, there are some disadvantages, such as relatively high prices. So what are the differences between the two? Will halogen lamps be replaced by LED fixtures?
Compared with halogen, LED has the advantages of accurate color temperature, high luminous efficiency, no pollution, and energy saving. Although the price is still a bottleneck, with the continuous improvement of energy-saving and emission reduction and the continuous improvement of light efficiency requirements, the recognition and acceptance of LED are also increasing. It is an inevitable trend for LED lights to replace halogen lamps, and it is only a matter of time.

LED: it uses light-emitting diodes to emit light. The principle of light emission is the direct conversion of electricity to light, which is a cold light source.
Halogen: it uses tungsten filaments to emit light. The principle of luminescence is the conversion of electricity-heat-light energy, which is an incandescent light source.
Compared with LED, halogens consume much higher energy. If you want to measure the amount of light emitted by any light source, then technically speaking, a halogen lamp will produce 2,700 lumens, which translates to 30 watts.
On the other hand, when using the same 30 watts of power, the LED light fixture will produce about 4,500 lumens. When the wattage used is the same, the lumens produced by the LED light will be higher than that of the halogen lamp, so the lighting effect of the LED light will be higher than that of the halogen lamp; When the required lumens are the same, the wattage of the LED light will be lower than that of the halogen lamp, so the energy consumption of the LED light will be lower than that of the halogen lamp.
LED lights have a stable life expectancy, can up 50,000--80,000 hours. That is equivalent to around 13 years.
Halogen lamps are affected by its manufacturing process, the life expectancy is far lower than that of LEDs, only 3500-3600 hours, which is equivalent to 1 year.
The CRI of Halogen lamps is 100, and it is identical to the standardized daylight. With the continuous development of technology, the CRI section of LED will be continuously improved, and there are already high CRI and high luminous efficiency lamp beads that can achieve more than 95. In general, the CRI of LED is around 80, and that has reached our requirements for lighting fixtures.
Actually, the important point is CCT, not CRI. When CRI reaches a certain value, it can meet our requirements for lamps. But CCT will affect the light directly. Halogen lamps generally have only one color temperature, the color temperature is about 2700K, and the light is yellowish. The LED can be chosen at will within 3000-6500K. In comparison, LEDs are more selective and more flexible.
The light distribution of the lamp mainly lies in its beam angle. The greater the beam angle of the lamp with the same power, the smaller the central light intensity, and the larger the illuminated area, the softer the spot will be; on the contrary, the smaller the beam angle, the greater the central light intensity, but the smaller the illuminated area, The light spot comes out harder.
The light distribution angle of the halogen lamp is very small, and the common ones are 10 degrees, 24 degrees, and 38 degrees. The LED light uses a lens to control the light beam angle, so its light distribution has great selectivity. From 15 degrees to 120 degrees, there are many options available.
LED does not need to be preheated, and can generally respond within tens of milliseconds, so it is a high-speed device, which is beyond the reach of other light sources. It can be achieved because the direct conversion of electricity to light.
The stroboscopic appearance of led lamps is related to the driver. If it is a good quality LED lamp, the driver uses a constant current circuit, the LED light is very stable, and there will be no stroboscopic. The flicker rate of LED lighting is 0.35%, which means that it can meet the requirements of real-time and delayed video broadcasting.
LED lights are directly converted into electricity by using semiconductor materials, which have higher luminous efficiency. Under the same lighting effect, the power of LED lamps is smaller, and it saves electricity, so as to achieve the effect of energy-saving.
The lifespan of LED lights is longer than that of halogen light and HID light. Under normal circumstances, the working life of LED lights can reach 50,000 to 80,000 hours or even 100,000 hours.

The CCT can be an option from 3000K to 6500K, which is very good for a variety of applications and requirements.
