The Lusail Stadium is the first World Cup main venue undertaken by a Chinese company. It is the main stadium for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This magnificent stadium is located in the Lusail New District (Lusail), north of Doha, the capital of Qatar, and will host the semi-finals and finals of the 2022 World Cup. and closing ceremonies and other major events. With a construction area of 195,000 square meters, it can accommodate 80,000 people watching the game at the same time. It is currently the world's largest single-span double-layer cable-net roof single building. It is the world's largest, most complex system, highest design standard, most advanced technology, and internationalization. The tallest World Cup stadium.

The design of the Lusail Stadium is full of futuristic, inspired by the light and shadow pattern of the traditional Arabian lantern (Fanar Lantern). Its shape and design echo the intricate decorative motifs found on bowls, vessels, and artwork that have been used in the Middle East for centuries. The arena's sleek, bold shape and its sloping roof will delight fans at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The design goal was to create a striking yet simple form that would reflect the building's function, respond to Qatar's climate and enhance the venue for the event, creating an immersive atmosphere for players and spectators.

The lighting effects on the building façade, displaying the traditional Qatari enamelled lampwork, visually reinforce the bowl’s structural diagonal grid and form a perforated screen that provides shade and filters dappled light to the interior lobby. The exterior of the stadium is glittering with gold, highlighting the Arabic cultural characteristics of the Middle East Gulf region where Qatar is located, hence the name of the building "Great Golden Bowl".

At night, the advanced lighting system will "maximize the interaction of lights and façade openings, and can simulate the welcome glow of fan lights for welcoming fans.

The building is topped by a "spoke-wheel" cable-net roof that comes to life when illuminated by lights. With a diameter of 307 meters (1,007 feet), it has become one of the world's largest stadium tensile cable-net roofs, bringing environmental comfort while unifying the entire bowl under a single envelope.

The 'bowl' of Lusail Stadium, externally manifested as a polished golden vessel that glistens at night, becomes a unique and instantly recognizable landmark. With its playful scale and elegant geometry, Lusail Stadium will become an enduring symbol of Qatar's post-FIFA World Cup™ legacy, serving as a truly memorable venue for this year's final and many other international events to come.
